Privacy

This page says plainly what happens to your files and what GratisLab collects about your visit. It names the two services involved and what each one can and cannot see.

Your files never leave your device

Every tool on GratisLab — the image compressor, the PDF merger, the background remover, all of them — is code that downloads to your browser and does its work there, using your own device’s processing power. The photo, PDF or text you open in a tool is read, edited and saved on your device. It is never sent to a server, never stored on one, and never seen by anyone who runs this site. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel while you use a tool, and watch — no request ever carries your file.

What we collect, and why

GratisLab is free to build and free to use, and we still need to know whether it works. Two services help with that, and this is the complete list:

  • PostHog records product events: that a page was viewed, which tool was opened, and whether the job you ran finished or errored. That is what tells us a tool is broken before a pile of bad reviews would.
  • Microsoft Clarity records a masked replay of how a page was used — where someone clicks, scrolls and pauses — so we can see where visitors get stuck. Clarity is set to strict masking: text on the page is replaced with plain blocks before the recording ever leaves your browser, so what reaches Clarity is the shape of your visit, not its content.

What neither service ever sees

Neither PostHog nor Clarity receives the file you worked with, anything inside it, or its filename. The event PostHog logs for a finished job is a pass-or-fail flag, not the output. The replay Clarity stores is a masked recording of the page, not a copy of your document.

Two tools where even the replay is off

On the password generator and the notepad, Clarity is not loaded at all — not masked, not partial, simply switched off. A generated password and a typed note are exactly the kind of content a session replay exists to watch, and on those two pages that trade is not worth making, so it is not made.
