About GratisLab

GratisLab is a free collection of everyday media and document tools — compress an image, merge a PDF, remove a background, clean up a scan — that run entirely inside your browser. The name says exactly that: muft (मुफ़्त) is Hindi for “free”, and a box is where you keep the tools.

Why everything runs in your browser

Every tool on GratisLab is code that downloads to your device and runs there, using your device’s own processing power. Your files never leave your device — there is no upload step, no server doing the work, and nothing kept anywhere once you close the tab. It also means a tool is ready the moment the page has loaded, instead of waiting in a queue behind someone else’s file.

That matters most for the documents people actually reach for a tool like this to handle: exam photographs, signature images, Aadhaar and PAN scans, salary slips, bank statements. Those are not files most people want sitting on an unfamiliar server, so GratisLab is built so they never have to.

Free, with no account and no limits

There is nothing to sign up for — no account, no email address, no login. There is no cap on how many files you can process, no watermark on what comes out, and no “upgrade to continue” partway through a job. What you see on the page is the whole tool.

Who it’s for

Mostly, someone who needs one specific thing done to one specific file, right now, on whatever device is in their hand — often a mid-range Android phone on an ordinary mobile connection, not a laptop on fast office wifi. GratisLab is built for that visitor first: fast to load and simple to use in a couple of taps, and unconcerned with matching the full feature set of a desktop editor. If a job needs Photoshop, this is not that tool; if it needs a photo resized, a PDF merged or a background removed, it is.

Every tool is listed on the home page. For exactly what GratisLab does and does not collect about a visit, see the privacy page.
